 DramaQueen asked Sakurai-sensei to share her thoughts with the fans, so below is a Q/A session with sensei.Birthday: November 17th, Scorpio, blood type A DQ: What are Sakurai-sensei's thoughts about having your manga printed in English? Sensei: I'm very happy and at the same time I'm very curious about what the English-speaking world will think when they read my manga. DQ: What inspires you to draw yaoi? Sensei: I like playing games, so I started by drawing yaoi parody doujinshi for the "Final Fantasy" series. DQ: Do you use live models? Sensei: I do. My own hand, for example. (Hehe!) I'm happy to draw men that I'm involved with, but sadly I'm not blessed with such opportunities very often. So, for that reason, I'm accepting applications from hot young men all year round! DQ: Any other information or thoughts that you want to share with your fans? Sensei: Be happy, read manga! Beyond that, since I'm drawing a work that appeals to the heart and the (naughty bits), cheer for me please! DQ: If you have one, can you share your favorite phrase or word with the fans? And why is it your favorite? Sensei: "Don't think. Feel." "Do it before it can be done to you." I can't explain why, but these phrases really speak to me. Both of them are very positive concepts. I think manga should express ideas like that. |
