Postby Nycmango » Wed Mar 24, 2010 5:23 am

Another great title to think about :D

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru by ODAGIRI Hotaru

Genres: Action Fantasy Shoujo Shounen Ai Supernatural

From: Wikipedia:

Sakurai Yuki is a mysterious boy with a mysterious power. Right after he was born, his mother left him near an orphanage, and he was later found. Because of that event, Yuki strives for independence. He hates being a burden to anyone near him, but at the same time, he is afraid of being left alone. Moreover, ever since he can remember he had a strange ability where when he touches others, he can feel their emotion. Unable to control it, he often made insensitive blunders in the past. He later meets with a mysterious yet beautiful man who saves his life, but somehow he feels so nostalgic, like he's met him before. While death threats and his ability increasing, a man who claimed to be his older brother suddenly appears, so what will Yuki do when he learns the truth?

Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru is still ongoing and it has 7 volumes out so far. It also has an anime airing this April so it should attract a great crowd , in addition to its already fans:D

I'm at End of Your Sight by SEO MOON Da Mi

Genres: Drama Romance School Life Shounen Ai Slice of Life Tragedy

From Baka-Updates:

Je-hyung who is left alone after his mother's death quits school and starts to work. On his way home he meets a girl who doesn't seem to have any place to go and brings her to his house. She disappears next morning, and three years later they meet again as boys.

It kind of in a way, reminds you of Totally Captivated, so it definitely is a title to think about:D. It is currently still ongoing and it has 4 volumes out so far.

Yes - definitely these two! Please do your best to license SG - they have been licensed in Europe & from what I heard - very popular over there. On top of that, one of your bigger competitors (whose name I shan't mentioned here ;) ) unbelieveably did not have these mangakas in their sight! (as per their latest polls) So hopefully this means less competition, cheaper licensing fees & more revenue for DQ?

However, I do want DQ to prioritze SG though.

I'd really, really, REALLY love to see Setona Mizushiro's "Game of Cat and Mouse" two-volume series (aka The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese / The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice) being done by Dramaqueen.

Also, any title by Naono Bohra, Shin Mizukami, Ike Reibun, Shushushu Sakurai (i.e., I LOVE all your current licenses :D ), Inariya Fusanosuke, more from Yuzuha Ougi, yaoi titles by Ashia Sakura (Sakurako Gokurakuin), Asia Watanabe, explicit stuff by Shiuko Kano....the list is too long... :ugeek:

I have sad news for both of us :( This title is much requested in June forum too & the moderator there told us the the author works w/ some Japanese publishing house which do work exclusively w/ VIZ. VIZ US doesn't do yaoi (the closest is maybe After School Nightmare which is shojo/shounen-ai?)so who knows when this title will ever see the light of the day here. The reason they have been licensed & published in Europe is because those European publishers were partly owned by VIZ (albeit small stakes)
DQ - I know that you probaly don't really need cash infusion right now but perhaps someone should approach VIZ to invest in DQ so we can all get this title published here? It would not hurt right because Shogakukan does have lots of good titles?

Thanks, 2old4yaoi! Yes, I read that too.

Re: European publisher being owned by Shogakukan: it's true only about the French publisher of this title, Asuka. As far as I know, the German publisher of this series, Carlsen Verlag is not owned by Shogakukan. So, though our chances are slim, it's obvious that Shogakukan does business with other companies occasionally - and who knows, they may agree to do business with one of the US yaoi publishers....

To be honest, I would much prefer that DQ publish whichever titles that they acquired prior to their hiatus. They acquired a long list of titles which have yet to be published and of course two of those titles have been licensed by June Manga.

If DQ still has licensing rights to those titles such as Naked Jewels Corporation by Shushushu Sakurai, Chronicle of the Divine Sword (Urakatana Kaminoki ) by Uki Ogasawara, Mukizu ja Irarenee & Organic Sons by Mika Sadahiro, and Yuuwaku no Hitsuji by Maeda Momiji, then I would prefer to see those published first because I'm still interested in purchasing them.

I don't want to make any requests until DQ is able to make more acquisitions in the future.
