This is DramaQueen, L.L.C's launch into the wonderful world of Boys' Love manga. For those fans who are already familiar with the genre of Boys' Love, or Yaoi, manga, we are pleased to bring you some great Yaoi titles in the coming months. We have two titles lined up ~ so please come back and check out the Releases section.

Well...honestly...Yaoi is only the beginning...we have so much more planned for YOU, the fangirls, fanguys, so we hope that you will give us your support and enthusiasm as we unfold our plans for the remainder of 2005.

A special note to the novice reader who is wondering "eh? what's boy's love? what's Yaoi?"

We are more than happy to explain:

1. Boys' Love, or Yaoi, is a genre of manga (means 'comics' in Japanese) written by mostly female authors for thefemale audience. However, as word spread about this genre, the male fans also became interested in these titles. Boys' Love stories usually focus on the romantic relationships between two men; and yes these stories have sexual depictions. And that is only one aspect of what makes the Boy's Love stories so appealing; the other factor being the gorgeous and detailed art work. Truly, from an author’s point of view, each comic is a labor of love.

2. Boy's Love is a more euphemistic term than Yaoi. The term Yaoi had its beginning from the Japanese acronym for the phrase Yama nashi Ochi nashi Imi nashi, meaning No peak, No point, No meaning. Yaoi (pronounced yao-e), was originally a term used for the comic parody genre doujinshi, which tends to pair existing manga characters in superficial homosexual situations*. However, the Western fans have taken the term "Yaoi" and elevated it to a genre classification. Yaoi now represents an entire genre of comics devoted to male homosexual romantic stories, with the further classifications of Shouen-Ai and Shota.

3. Thus in short, Yaoi is written for those readers who can appreciate the erotic fantasy of a male and male romantic love.

We hope that this brief introduction has stirred some curiosity in you to discover more about the stories and the authors whose imagination gives us such wonderful eroticism.
