 DramaQueen asked Yu-Chin Lin-shifu to share her thoughts with the fans, so below is a Q/A session with shifu. Birthday: 1st of May DQ: How do you feel about having your comics printed in English? Shifu: I am very happy to sell my comic overseas. But what makes me happiest is that fans in other countries share my comics with their friends. I am very happy when people like my drawings and story. DQ: What inspires you to draw? Shifu: I love drawing. I am happiest when I am drawing. With the pen, I am led to many different magical worlds. DQ: Do you use live models? Shifu: I don't use live models. I initially take into consideration the beauty of the drawing, then I consider proportion. I start with stick figures, the rest is my imagination. When I have to draw an action pose I am unfamiliar with, or have a hard time with, I role play the character. Yes, I stand in front of the mirror and role play. ^ ^// After I see the pose, I can draw it easier. DQ: What thoughts would you like to share with the fans? Shifu: For me, each stage is a learning experience. No matter if 10 or 20 years pass, I feel that I will always learn something new. Learning has both merits and shortcomings. The hope is that you pick up the merits and contain the shortcomings. I hope that with the passage of time I do progress.
